Updates

It's been awhile. Sorry to everyone who has been looking for an update. We have been very busy, but it still seems like there is nothing new.

I did catch a  stomach bug. Montezuma's Revenge to be exact, so I have been staying close to home lately as much as I can. But I was able to go to the doctor, get a shot and 3 prescriptions for about $16. The only downside to that was the shot, I was walking a little stiff for a few days, which attracts even more attention to the only tall white guy under 60 in town down here.

We were able to take a few trips to other areas down here. We went to Leon, for a long weekend. I met a friend that I went to Pioneer School with that was serving down there, so we went to go check it out. It is a very nice town, with an awesome congregation. A lot of young ones, and very friendly and social. The town is a lot bigger than we expected. We were told 2 million people, so there was alot of traffic, and more pollution than we expected. The ministry there is really nice, I was able to start  a study on our fist day out in service. It was with a nice young guy name Raul who had always looked at the bible, and was religious, but didn't understand why it was important to take any action. I shared a few basic scriptures with him. 1 Tim 3:1-5, John 3:16, etc.... He was interested in learning a more, I showed him the bt book and demonstrated a study. Hopefully he will make some progress and keep his study. Blanca has had some good experiences too, placing the offer for Novemeber and finding alot of English in the canvasing.

Leon is known for the Leather District that it has. Imagine blocks and blocks of hand made leather shoes, bags, hats, and wallets. Blanca could have spent all day there, but we were short on time and shorter on Pesos.

We head home Saturday night. It will be nice to be see most of you and be at our own place, have some privacy, our own bed, and a car to get around town. We really got to see a lot while we are here. It was great to see how Jehovah is speeding up the preaching work in the English field in Mexico. We will try to post some more pictures and thoughts when we can.
